What is a run?
A run is one trip out - errands, the store, a swing by the pharmacy. You start it when you are leaving, check things off while you are out, and finish it when you are back. Linen pulls together what is due and lets you add the rest.
When do I start one?
Right as you head out the door. The Run tab shows what is needed today and this week, plus anything worth adding. Tap Start run and go.
Nothing due today - can I still start a run?
Yes. An empty run is fine. Start it, then add things from your list as you find them, or type something new. If you finish without checking anything off, nothing is recorded.
Can I add something while I'm out?
Tap "Add from the list" on the run screen. Pick anything already on your list, or type something new and it goes straight into the run.
What are late adds?
When you share a space, the other person hears you are out and can add something to your run before you are done. You answer each one with Got it or Can't this time. Declined things stay on the list for next time.
Need, Maybe, Link - what's the difference?
Need is something you actually have to get. Maybe is an idea you are not sure about yet. Link saves a product or page you found; it arrives as a Maybe. The ring on each thing shows which it is - coral for Need, blue for Maybe.
Why does everything land in "This week"?
Linen never assumes something is urgent. New things are needed by this week; tap a thing to move it to Today when it really is, or to No rush when it can wait.
How do I remove a thing without doing it?
Swipe left on it, or open it and tap Remove from list. You get a few seconds to undo. Removing never shows up in Activity.
Can I change several things at once?
Press and hold any thing to select it, then tap others. Change when they are needed, whether they are Need or Maybe, move them to a group, or remove them together.
How does sharing a space work?
One space, two people, one list. From More, open Shared space and create an invite - a code or a link that works once and lasts seven days. When they join, everything is shared, and either of you can start a run.
Someone invited me. How do I join?
Open the link they sent, or on the first screen tap "Someone invited you? Join their space" and type the code. You will add a first name and email, confirm a code we email you, and you are in. There is nothing to pay - the person who invited you covers the space.
What's free and what's paid?
Saving things, groups, and running solo are free with no limits. Sharing a space with another person, plus the widget, share sheet, and voice capture, need a subscription - two weeks free, then $1.99 a month. Only one person in a space pays.
What happens if I leave or the subscription ends?
If the subscriber's plan ends, they choose to pass the space to the other person or keep it. Nothing is deleted. If you leave a shared space, you lose access to it and start fresh - the space stays with the other person.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. Your first list lives on your phone. An account - just a first name and email, no password - is created when you start a trial or join someone's space.
